Two years ago I was “lucky” enough to bring home a gnome for Christmas. Although he was acquired through a friendly White Elephant exchange, I was unable to part with him. I don’t know why…maybe because he had eyes? None the less, he has been our basement mascot for two years. I finally decided to give him the makeover that I had envisioned.
Anytime that I begin a project, I first find an inspiration piece to start with. I started with a clipboard that had all of the right colors.
If there is one color that I am not fond of, it would have to be…the blue of the gnome’s old coat. I mixed a little white with the brown that I used for his hat to make a lovely tan.
I added a little black to the brown to make a dark color for the belt and shoes.
I added a little pearl to the dark brown, to make the paint color for the pants.
I also added a little silver to his beard and a little shimmer to his skin.
Little Miss Sunshine suggested that I add a little ribbon to the plain brown hat.
Doesn’t he look a little happier? Look at the first picture….weird right?
