Yay, it’s finally here! It is time for First Communion Bracelet Workshops!!!
As many of you know, I have made jewelry for years. I really enjoy making new pieces and gathering inspiration from nature, but by far, one of my favorite times of the year is now. What makes this so special for me? Well…I love to teach and seeing the look on the girls faces when they complete a bracelet is truly priceless! It is also pretty rewarding to know that the First Communicants are able to show off their handiwork and impress their relatives.
The girls can wear these pieces again for their confirmation and (best of all) they had the chance to make something this special with their mothers. The workshops generally take about one hour. I plan ahead and make a kit for each girl attending and their mother is there to help make sure that the pattern is followed correctly.
Once the bracelets are assembled, I check the pattern, make sure the size is just right, and I add a clasp.
These bracelets are easy to personalize too! Shown below, I used a sterling silver round and hand stamped it with an initial.
These bracelets also serve as a single decade rosary. Here are some additional pictures of the companion pieces and other accompanying gifts. I make custom rosaries and most are made from gemstones or personalized with birthstone crystals.
