Yesterday Mr. Man and I had a little outing in the city. We had reservations to see Oprah and Dr. Gary Chapman.

I had never been to the Oprah show and I really thought that I had missed my boat. It turns out that Oprah still films a series of shows in Chicago for OWN {Oprah Winfrey Network}.

After Mr. Man purchased a Gary Chapman book, we were asked if we wanted to be a part of the audience. Hmm…let’s see…YES!

We had a bit of a delay before we were actually inside the studio. It seems one show ran late and it caused all of the other shows to be delayed. Long story short we arrived at 1:00 and finally saw Oprah at 5:15. By then my curls were gone and Mr. Man and I were a bit slap happy.

We were pretty excited to walk into the studio. As we entered we were asked to come to the front…this is where I panicked just a little.

Turns out we were to sit in the front row, center seats. I looked at the chair next to me and sure enough I was sitting next to

the lovely Mrs. Karolyn Chapman! I was beyond excited…

This was truly an amazing experience. Oprah is a huge inspiration and Dr. Gary Chapman has helped so many couples with his wealth of knowledge.

The 5 Love Languages has appeared on the New York Best Sellers list over 200 times. Most every couple that has read it says that it has changed their marriage and some even credit it for saving their marriage. I for one know that it has made a great deal of impact in ours.

The best thing is that, even if you are not married, it helps you realize the needs of others, and most of all yourself.

I really do think that you need to read the book too…taking the quiz will only give you a little bit of insight but reading the book helps you understand what to do with your love language and that of your partner’s.
